Who are the Mongols

Mongols means the people who has Mongolian origin,whatever his or her citizenship,and no matter he or she speaks Mongolian language or not.The Mongol is a ethnicity which orginal from central Asia and Siberia.same as the Turks.

There are about 7 million Mongolian speakers in the world today,

* Around 2.8 million of them live in the independent part of Mongolia(outer Mongolia, 'Halh Mongol'or 'Ar Mongol' in Mongolian language),capital is Ulanbator city('Ulaanbaatar' in Mongolian which means Red hero);

* Around 4 million of them live in southern Mongolia(known as inner Mongolia also 'Ovor Mongol'in Mongolian language)which is under Chinese occupation since 1947,the administrative centre city is Hohhot(means Blue city in Mongolian language);

*Around 0.4 million of them live in the republic of Buryatia,the northern Mongolian land which occupied by Russia since 1923,the capital city is Ulan ude,the deepest lack in the world-Baikal lack(Baikal means nature in Mongolian language)is there.

*Around 0.3 million of them live in the republic of Tuva,the northern Mongolian land,which occupied by Russia since 1912;

*Around 0.1 million of them live in the republic of Altai,the Northern Mongolian land
which occupied by Russia since 1922;

*Less than 0.2 million of them live in the rupublic of Kalmykia in Russia,far away from the main Mongolian land.

*Around 0.2 million of them live in western Mongolian land(known as Dzungaria also),which is occupied by China,and named Xinjiang and HOH NUUR(blue lack in Mongolian language)today as the autonomous regions of china.




also there are some of Mongolian groups,they do not speak Mongolian language or bit admixtured with some other nations,such as Hazara tribe in Afghanistan.

or some turkic-Mongolian groups,such as Yakut(republic of Sakha)
